DESCRIPTION
LUBRICAST 520 HD contains a special blend of inorganic clays which provide for excellent insulation and release. This product gives a textured finish desired to produce sound aluminum castings.
APPLICATION
LUBRICAST 520 HD is applied when insulation is required in order to prevent thin-casting sections from solidifying too quickly. This mold wash was specifically designed for medium to large aluminum castings. To avoid Flaking, thin successive coatings should be applied until the desired coating thickness is achieved. The mold area to be coated must be free from containments, particularly oil and grease. A light sandblast in the area to be coated would give optimum conditions.
PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
If a more durable mold coating is desired, LUBRICAST 520 RH is available. Also available is LUBRICAST 411 or LUBRICAST 989, a dispersion of micro-fine graphite in water used in aluminum foundries for chilling, release, extended lubrication of moving parts, etc. Samples are available upon request.
NOTE
DO NOT FREEZE! THIS PRODUCT FREEZES AT 32°F.
